Soul-mate Connections

Soul mate connections, anam cara, are intense relationships, which abound. In order to attract a soul mate, you need to become all that you want in a soul mate. By becoming what you desire, you attract what you desire. As we engage with each new individual, the opportunity can be created to learn about ourselves and heal our past.

It is the recognition on both sides of the soul-mate nature of the relationship that produces the intense bonding that occurs. While every relationship is a soul connection, recognition may not be instantaneous. It is possible to sabotage a possible relationship out of fear. If a person has relationship issues, such as lack of trust, fear of abandonment, low self-esteem, or fear of commitment from a bad prior relationship, they can be blind to recognizing such a mate: being emotionally open enough to allow a soul-mate relationship to occur is necessary. It seems both individuals must have reached a certain level of spiritual growth to understand and accept the special nature of the soul-mate relationship.

In the same vein, unresolved issues and fear can keep us from healing any relationship whether it be significant other, family member, friend, employer. When there are times of overwhelming pain, beliefs may become distorted; it may seem there is no "light at the end of the tunnel", but healing abounds!
